Thinking about Project 333
Before year-end 2012, I’ve managed to pare down my personal possessions to only 56 things.
While the minimalist in me is on a roll, I’d like to
keep the momentum going by reducing even more.
Recently, I read an article in Joshua
Becker’s Becoming Minimalist blog about Project 333.
Project 333 is from another blog by Courtney Carver with the same name.
Project 333 is from another blog by Courtney Carver with the same name.
Basically, the idea is to use only 33 articles of
clothing for the next 3 months.
The guidelines:
- Included are clothing, accessories, jewelry, outerwear, and shoes.
- Exceptions are wedding ring (or other sentimental piece of jewelry you never take off), underwear, sleep wear, in-home lounge wear, and workout clothing (you can only wear them when you work out).
- Clothing that no longer fits or are in poor condition may be replaced any time during the 3 months.
They have a Facebook page where you can join
and share your experience, or draw some valuable advice.
I’m thinking on experimenting this by myself.
I’ve been researching about the project to get
inspiration on how to get started, and they’ve all been helpful.
What I noticed was that most of the people who tried
it were women, and occasionally were men (like Joshua Becker). But I still want
to try it.
Since I’ve already experienced paring down my
clothing, I feel like this will not be that hard or restricting.
I’ll be documenting my developments here and will
keep you posted.
