My Three Goals for 2015
I’ve heard quite a lot that announcing your goals to the public can increase the probability of you accomplishing it.
I’ve known a number of bloggers who have tried it and have successfully reached the goals they’ve set for themselves by the end of the year.
I would like to test it myself, so here I am posting my goals for 2015 for everyone to see.
For this year, I have three:
1. Become healthier.
2. Increase my income.
3. Finish my second book.
The first two are somewhat vague so I would have to put in action plans to make them more specific, while the last one is kind of detailed already.
The Details
1. Become healthier. By the end of the year I want my blood sugar levels back within the normal range (100-120) and my ideal weight maintained (144-147 lbs.). I’m at 150 lbs. right now, but my FBS is at the 120-150 range.
- Eat a balanced diet
b. Always say no to soda.
c. Maintain one cup of coffee a day.
- Exercise every day
b. Run at least once a week for an hour.
- Have enough rest
a. Go back to my old habit of going to bed by 10 pm and waking up at 5 am.
2. Increase my income. By the end of the year I would like to double my income. (Sorry, I’m not that brave enough to reveal the exact numbers here. But I have them monitored in my personal journal. He he.)
- Increase my writing speed to finish more projects
b. Stick to a scheduled time of focused writing – 9 hours a day (6:00 am to 7:00 am*, 9:00 am to 12:00 nn, 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm*) in 30-minute intervals with 10-minute breaks in between
c. Clear all distractions while writing - turnoff notifications and stop checking my emails and social media accounts
- Actively seek for more opportunities online
b. Try affiliate marketing
c. Be more active in guest posting
3. Finish my second book. I’ve been writing my second book, a novel titled “Sometime in July,” since early last year and have only finished a quarter of it. I admit I haven’t given it more time and I want to change that this year. I want to launch it on December 15, 2015.
- *Schedule two hours a day every day (6:00 am to 7:00 am and 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm) to write distraction-less for my book.
Motivation and Inspiration
Heck, some may even secretly wish that I fail and become the laughing stock of the internet.
Well, I’ll just use those thoughts for extra motivation. I posted these goals for myself and not for anyone else, to remind and motivate myself of what I want to accomplish by the end of the year.
I'll be sharing some updates from time to time and if this experiment is working out as well.
