Top 10 Minimalist Living Tips - #2
Note: In this series of posts, I will share the 10 most valuable minimalist living tips that I have learned in the past four years. These guidelines are helping me a lot in my continuous walk in the path of simplicity, and I would like to share them with you. At the end of the series, I will gather them all together for a synopsis.
Minimalist Living Tip #2: Live with contentment.
Contentment is perhaps the most misunderstood concept ever. Some think that (a.) it is good to be content and live a simple life, while others say that (b.) we should not settle in not reaching our full potential in life.
This is something that I have struggled to understand when I first walked the minimalist path more than five years ago.
But I have learned over the years that there are really two sides to this concept. One side is about what I have and the other side is about who I am.
I should always be content with what I have right now, but I should never be satisfied by what I can become. There’s a big difference between possessing material things and developing our character when it comes to fulfilling our destiny.
Here are some blog posts I’ve written through the years about contentment:

Also this free, Little Book of Contentment from Leo Babauta helped me a lot to put things in perspective.
