7 Powerful Promises Of God Found In The Bible
Below are seven of God's promises found in the Bible (not in any particular order). Read them slowly, reflect on them, and let God work these promises into your heart.
1. God's plan for you is good.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
God's ultimate plan for each one of us is to prosper us and keep us away from harm. He wants to give us hope and a good future. However, it is still our choice if we want to walk within His will for our lives. If we are willing to do so, then we can hold on to this promise of a prosperous future.
2. God will always be there for you.
"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
God is everywhere. He promises to be always with us no matter where we are or what we are going through. Which is why we should free ourselves from the love of money and learn contentment, according to the verse.
3. God loves you unconditionally.
"The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness." Jeremiah 31:3We live in a sinful world where relationships are replete with conditional love and affection. Sometimes, even those who we thought loved us so much will one day hurt us. God provides us with an unconditional love that no one else can. God's love is claimed by faith. If you are feeling unloved, then open your heart and accept it in.
4. God will help you and give you strength.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10During times of challenges and crisis, we can expect God to help us and give us the strength we need to overcome. He said it Himself. We do not have to succumb to the paralyzing power of fear because we know how powerful our God is and that He is with us.
5. God will bless you in your obedience.
"If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:19-20
God blesses those who follow Him and are obedient to His words. We know God's will is the best for us. So no matter what we are facing right now, let us just keep on doing what God wants us to do. Sooner or later, we will experience the blessing of obedience that He planned for us all along.
6. God gives you rest.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:28-29
Jesus is always there to provide us the rest we need if we choose to come to Him. God is a gentle God who would never force Himself on anyone. Jesus reminds us that He is gentle and humble, that we can always count on Him, and He is willing to give rest for our souls. The choice is yours, my friend.
7. God gives you peace.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27Jesus gives us peace like nothing or no one in this world can give. Yes, crazy things are happening in the world right now. But we can always choose to live in God’s peace and not be afraid. So if there is news that leaves you feeling scared, take comfort. You’ve got God on your side.
