Christ Makes All Things New

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” – Revelation 21:5
In Christ, we don’t get something new… we become new. We become a brand new creation, re-created in the character of Christ. Working out our salvation means re-training our mind and body to live a life pleasing to God.

GOD MAKES US NEW WHEN WE ACCEPT HIM IN OUR LIFE

The moment we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, accept Him as our personal Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit starts to re-new us - our personality, our behavior, our judgment - into becoming more like Christ. The old things that we use to enjoy wouldn’t give pleasure to us anymore.

The first thing you will notice in a newly “born” Christian is his changed life. It is the very first sign that a person truly and honestly accepted Jesus in his life. Otherwise, if there was no change in his life, if he still does the things that don’t give pleasure to God, he may only be religious and superficial.

GOD’S RENEWING POWER EXTENDS TO ALL

God’s renewing power extends to all, even to the foulest sinner. There is no life too foul for God to make new. There is no failure too great for Him to redeem. God’s love is so powerful that it can change even the worst sinner. I’ve been a witness many times. Nothing is impossible with God.

GOD MAKES ALL THINGS NEW AGAIN

Nothing in creation has escaped the stain of sin. We are going to be made new again when that day comes when tombs are emptied and all the dead in Christ are raised to meet Jesus in the sky, while us, believers in the Lord, who are still alive at that time will be given the same new, glorified body. Raised and made new in eternal glory with God.

Final Notes:

The Bible declares we will become a new creation in Christ. It talks about new songs, new mornings, new hearts, new garments, new wine, new hope, new heavens, and a new earth. We will become new when we surrender our life to God and submit ourselves to His control, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We cannot change on our own. We need God’s power and control in our lives to accomplish that.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. – 2 Corinthians 5:17
