Sermon outline by Raymund Tamayo
Intro – Importance of Prayer
In loving those who doesn’t have a relationship with Christ yet, we need lots of prayers.
· Pray that you will develop a relationship with them
o For people to be saved, they must first hear the Good News. For them to hear the Good News, they must first meet people like you.
o Pray that you would develop deeper and more meaningful relationships so you can speak the truth to them.
o “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” - Romans 10:14
· Pray for opportunities to minister to them
o Many people come to faith because they have experienced being ministered by a believer.
o Pray for opportunities to share Christ by serving unbelievers in need.
o “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” - Matthew 5:16
· Pray for them faithfully and persistently
o Our temptation is to grow discouraged in prayer, to pray for a while and, when we see no visible results, to give up.
o Pray that God will give us perseverance in prayer.
o “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” - Colossians 4:2
· Pray for boldness to speak the Gospel
o It’s normal to get scared in preaching the Gospel. Even the Apostle Paul prayed for boldness and confidence in the Lord.
o Pray for God to give you courage and that He will guide your words.
o “Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.” - Ephesians 6:19
· Pray for other believers to encounter them
o God can use any believer to share the Gospel to the unsaved.
o Pray that God would lead other Christians into the lives of the unbelievers you love, that they too would provide an example of Christian living and that they too would speak the Gospel.
o “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” - 1 Corinthians 3:6
5 Ways Christians Can Love the Unchurched
1. Keep Your Testimony Pure (Matthew 5:16)
· Let them see how you follow Christ by how you treat them
· 1 Corinthians 11:1
2. Show Patience (2 Timothy 2:23-26)
· You must not be quarrelsome, but be able to teach without resentment
3. Show Kindness (Colossians 4:5-6)
· Talk to them with grace from God, remembering that you were just forgiven and nothing to boast (Ephesians 2:8-9)
4. Show Respect (1 Peter 3:15-17)
· Be prepared to share them the Gospel, but with respect
5. Show Humility (1 Corinthians 9:19-23)
· Take away the “holier than thou” attitude
